Welcome to Secret7000.co.uk. We're a group of amateur film makers. We make short films and animations, mainly comedy, and make all of our work available free of charge on the internet.

The Forest II: Relentless Thirst has been released! See the videos page or the Forest II page for download information.

Please take a look at the videos, and the mini-vids.

UPDATE: The Forest II article now up; it's an epic
16-02-08

Today, Master Mike posted up a rather extensive writeup for The Forest II, which includes individual downloads for the ten music tracks that Inquisitor Liam wrote for the film. The article covers everything from writing to post production, so anyone who's interested in getting something of a "Behind the scenes" view of one of our films would likely enjoy the article.

Also of note is that, on YouTube, is now a Forest II blooper reel. Good for some cheap lulz if you're bored, as well as Master Mike's 2007-08 visual effects demoreel on Stage6 which breaks down a lot of the shots from The Forest II.

Here's a small extract to tempt you over to the article...

From left to right - the original bluescreen plate, which had Simon on a harness and was frankly hilarious. In the middle - the first crack at the shot, animation and motion-blurring the bluescreen plate from left to right - hmm, not very convincing. On the right - the final shot, using Paul's physics-driven CGI Simon double. Much better!

UPDATE: The Forest II released!
18-12-07

So, here it is.

Nearly two years of work.... although we might have trouble admitting it in the immediate aftermath, it has been really good fun making this film, and we might even do another one. Woot!

The Forest II: Relentless Thirst is up and ready for viewing. Head on over to its page to have a look. Over the coming weeks there'll be a lot more Forest II content going on it's page, but for now, just grab a beer, pray you don't run out, and enjoy.

Thanks to those who came to the premiere on Saturday (I did manage to see the funny side when the laptop battery died), it was a blast.

UPDATE: If you haven't spotted it already....
12-10-07

Word up, y'all.

So, the somewhat massive news is that we now have a release date for The Forest II and SUpermansch III. Most visitors to this site will be familiar with The Forest, but for those who haven't seen SUpermansch before, please visit it's site by clicking here. There, you can watch the original film and it's sequel. Don't be fooled by the original's simple animation and styling: the second gets a lot more complex and the third promises to be a Flash Animation of Epic Proportions.

As stated above, the two films will be premiering the day before internet release, in Liverpool. If you would like to come, please get in contact with us and we can arrange tickets for you.

So, on December 15th/16th, the world will finally get to see what we've been plugging away at for the last year or so. We're extremely proud and excited to say that the releases are finally in site, and hope that you join us in our triumphant jubilation.

UPDATE: YouTube, Stage6 and The Forest II
29-07-07

Recently we have updated the Videos and Mini-vids pages, as well as the existing individual production pages, to include links to YouTube and Stage6 versions. YouTube is well-known enough not to warrant an explanation here, but Stage6 might be new to some visitors: it's similar to YouTube, but all videos on there are encoded at high quality in the DivX codec.

For videos of which we have a decent quality master copy (many of our older videos have had their masters lost in the depths of time), we have uploaded this high quality version to Stage6, meaning you can expect excellent quality if you decide to view this version of the video.

Work on The Forest II continues apace, with the rotoscoping nearing completion, and the visual effects and compositing coming along nicely. We're not quite in a position to announce a release date yet, but as soon as we are, the news page will be updated. As a smaller note, all downloadable, YouTube and Stage6 versions of the teaser trailer are now in the 16:9 format that the final film will be in. Enjoy.

UPDATE: The Forest II trailer @ Key Pixel
12-02-07

The Key Pixel Gathering of FIlmers is an organisation that seeks to forge creative links between film-makers, resources and the industry. The Key Pixel Moviethon is an event where several amateur films and previews are screened, in a relaxed atmosphere, over the course of a day with the intention of helping to form friendly links and bonds between film-makers.

The event being across the pond, sadly none of us from The Secret 7000 will be able to attend. We have, however, provided an extended version of our trailer to be shown at the event, screening footage that will not be seen until the full film is released. If you're in the area, and fancy seeing the extended trailer as well as a multitude of other quality amateur productions, then the whole day's worth of entertainment is at the bargain price of $5.

In the meantime, "we've drank all the beers", and must now depart.

UPDATE: Minor hack
30-07-07

We have suffered a minor automated hack, which placed adverts on the index page and overwrote some of the text. As a consequence, we have lost the last two news posts. We are unsure if this is a data mining incident, or if it a problem endemic to our host. The lost news posts will be restored (as close as possible) later today. That's a lesson, keep a backup, even if you assume your data is safely online!

The previous news post was commenting that there is an extended version of the Forest II trailer on Stage6 (see the Forest II page for info) and that there are now Stage6 and YouTube versions of many of our works available on Videos and Mini-Vids, as well as a new mini-vid.

Normal service will now continue.

UPDATE: NEW FILM Announcement + teaser
26-12-06

Well well well, it's been a very long time since we last made a news update. After a frankly disastrous attempt to convert the site to a PHP-based content delivery system, we've pretty much given up on that for now. The HTML-based site is fine for us. The forum is, as ever, still active.

As a slightly belated christmas gift, we'd like to formally announce and provide a teaser for a new film that will be released at some point in the near future - The Forest II, which has been in production for almost a year and in pre-production for much longer than that. We're well in to post production on this rather large project. and appreciate the patience of those waiting for it. A release date will be announced close to the time - we really can't predict exactly when it'll be done.

The Forest II Teaser

Plans are in place for smaller, more regular productions from now on (The Forest II has proved a monster beyond what any of us could have predicted).

Merry christmas, a happy new year, and enjoy the teaser.

UPDATE: High quality, widescreen Forest
18-04-06

For fans of our most popular film The Forest, a high-quality widescreen edition is now available at this link. This version is over 100 megabytes in size due to it's quality, and has been converted to true 24 FPS for a cinematic feel. You'll need the DivX codec to view this version.

UPDATE: Stunt Day 2003
01-01-06

A Secret 7000 Golden Oldy is back by popular demand, Stunt Day 2003 is now available for your perusal in the Videos section. Enjoy.

UPDATE: Christmas greetings
19-12-05

Just a short Christmassy mini vid for you today - a Christmas greeting from Dr Wombat and Inquisitor Liam. See the Mini vids page to have a goosy.

UPDATE: Production pages
06-11-05

Today, we started putting up individual pages for the bigger productions. The first of the movies to get this treatment is The Forest. The plan is to have an individual page for each of the productions eventually. Next will be Boxmobiles.

UPDATE: Mini vids
30-10-05

We've put some of our lesser productions up on the new Mini vids page. On this page will go all of our work which isn't intented to be a full production, but you still may find worthy of a gander.
